President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday, May 28, 2026, called on Nigerians to continue praying for terrorists and bandits to abandon violence, as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to address insecurity across the country.

Tinubu made the appeal during a meeting with security chiefs and traditional leaders at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where discussions focused on rising cases of terrorism, kidnapping and banditry in several parts of the country.

He said his administration remains committed to restoring peace through sustained military operations, improved intelligence gathering and stronger coordination among security agencies.

The President also stressed that national unity, community support and spiritual intervention were necessary components in tackling insecurity.

Tinubu said, “Nigeria should pray that terrorists and bandits will have a rethink and abandon their evil ways. We are determined to secure this country, protect lives and ensure that every Nigerian can live without fear.”

He further urged citizens to support security agencies with timely and useful information, warning that criminal networks thrive where communities remain silent.

The President assured that the Federal Government would continue to invest in modern security equipment and enhanced operational strategies aimed at ending insurgency and banditry in the country.
