Singer Simi celebrates mother at 70

Award-winning Afrobeats singer Simi has celebrated her mother, Jedidiah Olushola, on her 70th birthday, describing her as her first best friend and one of the most selfless people she knows.

The singer shared photographs of her mother on Instagram on her birthday, expressing gratitude for her unwavering love, support and sacrifices over the years.

Simi said the popular belief that no one loves a person like their mother has proven true in her own life, adding that her mother means the world to her.

“My sweet girl is 70 today. Wow. You deserve the world, because you mean the world to me. They say nobody loves you like your mom, and for me, it’s absolutely true,” she wrote.

The singer thanked her mother for always being present in the ways that mattered most and prayed for her to enjoy long life, good health and the fulfilment of her heart’s desires.

“Thank you for being there for me in all the ways that matter. My only request from you is that you live forever.
