Actress and filmmaker Uche Montana has achieved a major digital milestone as her latest release Monica 2 crossed 10 million views on YouTube within just 48 hours of its premiere.

The film, released on May 2, 2026 via Uche Montana TV, recorded rapid growth from the moment it dropped, hitting 1 million views within hours, surpassing 4 million shortly after, and reaching 6 million by the end of its first day before doubling to 10 million on day two.

Montana confirmed the achievement in a brief message to fans, attributing the success to faith rather than explanation.

“10M in 2 days. No explanation, just God,” she wrote.

The sequel continues the storyline from the original Monica, which also recorded strong online engagement earlier in the year. The new instalment follows Montana’s character through emotional and domestic challenges, including strained family relationships and romantic struggles.

Co-starring actors such as Blessing Onwukwe and John Ekanem, the film has been praised by viewers for its emotional depth, relatable conflicts, and focus on family dynamics and personal boundaries.

The strong performance of Monica 2 highlights the growing influence of digital platforms in Nollywood distribution, where YouTube is increasingly becoming a primary release channel for filmmakers seeking mass audiences.

The trend mirrors similar successes in the industry, including projects like Omoni Oboli’s Love in Every Word series, which has also accumulated tens of millions of views across its episodes, reinforcing the shift toward online-first film consumption in Nigerian cinema.
