President Bola Tinubu has said his administration has stabilised Nigeria’s telecommunications sector since assuming office, noting that renewed confidence is returning to the industry after years of operational pressures and declining investment.
Tinubu made the remarks on Friday in a statement marking the third anniversary of his presidency.
He said telecom operators were now expanding networks, investing in infrastructure, hiring Nigerian talent, and increasing digital access across the country.
According to him, the government took decisive steps to strengthen the sector, which he described as a key driver of modern economic growth.
“A connected Nigeria is a more competitive Nigeria. Digital infrastructure is now essential to commerce, education, innovation, and national productivity,” Tinubu said.
He added that improved stability in the sector was contributing to broader efforts to deepen economic development and enhance productivity nationwide.
